The silent movie theme is kind of cute. And, for some reason, the Riddler is slightly
more tolerable to me in this episode.
Maybe it’s just the idea of him as a film director.
Social Commentary:
Batman
is shocked to find that the library is closed due to lack of funds.
Riddler,
while spiking some lemonade: “That should bring out the temper in these
temperance fellows.” “Citizens!” roars
Batman, when the room erupts into a fight.
The Zen of Camp:
Sleeping-Cream
Pies!
Batman:
“True. You owe your life to dental
hygiene…”

Commissioner
Gordon administers Bat Gas to himself, on a handkerchief. “I feel as if I’ve awakened in some future
age,” he marvels, when he awakens at the Batcave.
